Changelog

version features (what's new for the user)
0.6.10
  • major website design upgrade:
    • fixed page layout,
    • navbar with emoji-icons,
    • hero section on about page,
    • flashcards and app's features represented as sticky notes, which in turn has introduced
    • additional color - yellow - also for hovered links in dark mode.
0.6.8
  • lightβ˜€οΈ/darkπŸŒ™ mode was implemented. The app checkes user/device color scheme preferences and browser's local storage to set the initial color scheme mode. When user changes color scheme mode using β˜€οΈ/πŸŒ™ button in the navigation bar, this setting is saved in the browser automatically.
0.6.0+
  • basic dictionary details were implemented in flashcards & word search. Use show/hide dictionary details button to control the details for each card separately (next flashcard details are hidden by default, so you are not tempted to glance at it, until you specifically want), but you can also use always show dictionary details checkbox to change the default behaviour of the app.
0.5.0
  • add & edit notes to words in flashcards. Words with a note show a show note checkbox; clicking it reveals the note and an edit note button. Words without a note show only add note.
0.4.0
  • word search across the 4,000-word list, with exact, starts-with, ends-with, and contains matching. Matching text is highlighted, and words can be marked known or unknown from the results.
0.3.3
  • random checkbox to show words from the words pool in random (not alphabetical) order (this can actually help to not rely on alphabetical order memory or same words (stem) family associations, but on raw recognizing randomly distributed words)
  • (partially implemented) πŸŽ‰ confetti celebrations for signalizing reaching (some - yet) milestones, like:
    • the entire list is visited,
    • the entire list is known,
    • alphabet letter change (when alphabetical order is on and when words don't start from the capital letter).

PS. More celebration/milestones implementations to come soon!
0.3.1
  • text coverage analysis for any pasted text in English, with vocabulary highlighting and coverage percentages based on either the entire 4000-word list or the user's known words.
πŸ‘‰ try the feature at text coverage page
0.2.0
  • import/export buttons to be able to create a backup and move your progress from one device to another.
⚠️ it is suggested to save/store exported file for example as your email draft, so it can be accessed on any device with Internet connection, but remember to always export your progress after a study session, update the file on your email and always import the latest progress file on a new/changed device!
⚠️ Backup file's name contains a precise timestamp (year, month, day, hour, minute), so always double-check the date before importing the file or replacing it in your storage/device.
0.1.0
  • visited/unvisited filter (checkbox) to discover new words or revisit visited words
  • known/unknown filter (checkbox) to revisit known/unknown words
  • user statistics (stats) to track one's progress and milestones
  • βœ… & ❌ buttons to quickly mark the word as known/unknown
  • the alphabet letter display for additional tracking progress and milestones
  • user's data (progress) is stored locally in the (any) device's browser Local Storage
⚠️ there is no synchronisation between different devices implemented yet, so each device tracks progress independently inter-device sync is enabled in version 0.2.0 via import/export feature
